well thank god this is finally over – i was so worried as to who was the father i was loosing sleep.  in case you hadn’t heard larry birkhead was named the father of anna nicole smith’s infant daughter dannilyn (has there ever been a more tragic name?).

my question is this; why the hell has this taken over the national consciousness?  it’s a simple paternity suit that happens hundreds of times every day all over this country.  why are we so obsessed with the tragedy that is anna nicole smith?

random bits:

  • is the maul of america the greatest example of the cesspool of humanity around?  i don’t actually frequent the maul very often even though it is in my backyard – i was there this weekend with a buddy, it’s truly one of the most life-force sucking places on the planet.
  • the reaping is not a good movie by even the most basic standards.  however, the idea is strong and solid and i think in the hands of a better director/scriptwriter/visual effects company, a pretty good movie is there.  of course, it was directed by the guy who did the abomination lost in space, so i don’t know why i was expecting anything else.
  • i’ve been exceedingly social as of late (never-mind the two dates with “j” [soon to be 3 as of the close of this evening]), i’ve been to the bar alot, house parties and all-day social events.  i don’t know what’s gotten into me.  if i’m not careful i’m going to turn into a social butterfly like kelly.  i did make the decision while in italy that i need to be a bit more social… we’ll see where this lands me.
